The Biggest Idea of 2007
Winner Nadia Malik wins £1000
After carefully going through hundreds of innovative and entertaining entries for The Big Idea 2007 cash prize Asian Woman magazine selected winner Nadia Malik who came up with the fantastic idea of a Miss Asian Woman beauty pageant.
Asian Woman has already been thoroughly involved in similar events including our sponsorship of the Face of Asia competition and having our very own Miss Asian Woman Magazine participating in the Miss England pageant 2007.
Even as we speak our events team are already hard at work putting the wheels in motion to create such an event that will shine a well deserved spotlight on beautiful and talented Asian women from all over, helping Asian Woman hold its status as not only a magazine but a tradition!
We spoke to Nadia, 27, a property manager from East London about the honour of having her Big Idea selected and winning the £1000 prize!
Tell us more about your Big idea.
I felt Asian Woman Magazine that stands as the GURU of all Asian Magazines throughout the world today was lacking an "Ambassador" and felt a Miss Asian Woman would not only bring the magazine to life but take it to new heights!
Will you be entering the Miss Asian Woman competition?
I would hope to - Yes.
What qualities do you think the winner should have?
The winner should possess qualities that would inspire. Her enthusiasm for life should spill into the people. A Miss Asian Woman should define respect, value of culture, integrity and discipline.
What are you going to spend the prize money on?
A trip to Australia.
What’s your favourite thing about Asian Woman magazine?
Opening a copy of Asian Woman Magazine is equivalent to opening a window to our Asian world today. I love the fact that the magazine touches a wide variety of topics to satisfy any reader.
It’s very much a magazine - For the people.
Who do you think sums up the modern Asian Woman and why.
Firstly, to me a modern Asian Woman is a woman that gracefully moves with the times without losing her identity. I look at the world today and we have such fine Asian Women everywhere.
Women that balance their personal life and professional life in complete harmony.
I cannot name one specific modern Asian Woman when I see so many fine examples of Modern Asian Women around me.
